Brief Internal DNS Outage
At 17:37 UTC on Friday 24th February 2023, the internal DNS server of our UK-LONDON-1 cluster performed an automatic migration to a new server after the previous one suffered an ungraceful shutdown.
This prevented PHP, Database and Redis instances from communicating with one another for 2 minutes, causing downtime for projects receiving traffic in this cluster.
Working with our hosting provider, we have identified the cause of the ungraceful shutdown and are rolling out an upgrade on Tuesday 28th February to prevent the issue from recurring in the future.
